Battlehawks Waive Drew Plitt, Panthers Waive DaShaun White – xflupdate
Over the past couple of days, the St. Louis Battlehawks and Michigan Panthers moved on from players. The Battlehawks let Drew Plitt go, while the Panthers waived linebacker DaShaun White.
QB Drew Plitt
Drew Plitt being released isn’t much of a surprise. He was brought in as an emergency QB this past week, since A.J. McCarron wasn’t healthy enough to go.
Plitt fully understood what was at hand, and there were no hard feelings between St. Louis and Drew when they waived him this week. Anthony Becht spoke about the ordeal this week to the media:
“He [Drew] loved it. He drove to the game in St. Louis from his house, picked up $2,500, we gave him some 2025 snaps to look through and know – he’s a smart dude, he’s been in an NFL system – and the Bengals do a lot of the things we do. Plitt was excited, man, he got to be at a home game, and he drove home with some cheese in his pockets. He was awesome about it.”
Drew Plitt played with the Arlington Renegades a season ago, and was their week one starter. He ended up throwing for 668 yards, three touchdowns, and five interceptions that year.
Per @XFLBattlehawks Head Coach Anthony Becht, A.J. McCarron is progressing well in practice and will be QB2 this weekend against Arlington.
Sounds like Manny Wilkins will be getting his second start of the #UFL season.

A.J. McCarron will be back in action sooner than later. According to Coach Becht, he will be QB2 this weekend.
LB DaShaun White
With the signing of Bumper Pool, the Michigan Panthers have decided to release DaShaun White. This move came a bit out of left field, since White has been an important piece to the team these last couple of years.
DaShaun was a USFL College Draft pick, and signed with Michigan midway through the 2023 season. He ended up earning an NFL opportunity with the Buffalo Bills in the preseason, but returned to Michigan for the 2024 UFL campaign.
The @USFLPanthers have re-signed LB DaShaun White. White joined the Panthers mid-season but made enough of an impact to land himself a camp invite with the Bills.
White’s one of the guys I wanted back if the NFL wasn’t smart enough.

Across eight games with the Panthers in 2024 DaShaun White had eight tackles, and a PBU. He played 127 snaps on defense, with an impressive 83.1 Defensive Grade via PFF. White also made an impact on Special Teams, with 98 total snaps on coverages.
The former Oklahoma standout will now look for a new home following his release.
