Jeremy Cox has been brought up from the Arena Football League, with the Southwest Kansas Storm. Cox is a familiar name, having played with the Houston Roughnecks during the 2023 XFL season.
Cox posted 120 rushing yards and a touchdown for Houston, on just 61 snaps. He was one of the most efficient rushers the Roughnecks had all year, according to PFF.

Jeremy Cox has been added to the roster, due to Leddie Brown’s season coming to an end. The Renegades have had tough breaks in their backfield, as Dae Dae Hunter went to IR back in week six.
Brown had 39 carries for 124 yards this year, averaging 3.1 YPC. He had burst onto the scene for Arlington last year during the Championship game, and remained a key piece this season. He had a 63.3 Offensive Grade, per PFF.
James Jones IV
James Jones is fresh off some time serving with the military. He burst onto the scene for the Air Force in 2017, starting in nine of 12 games played. Jones posted 52 tackles and an interception that year.

Over the next few years, James did not see the field too much. He was battling injuries, and became a rotational piece down the stretch.
James participated in the XFL 2023 Combine, and performed quite well. This put him on the radar of certain XFL teams, and now the Arlington Renegades have brought him in for the final couple of games.
Final Thoughts
General Manager Rick Mueller and his personnel are seemingly looking at the future of this team. With a 1-7 record, Arlington is expected to see some changes this offseason.
It will be interesting to see if Arlington decides to give one of their other quarterbacks a shot to prove themselves. Lindsey Scott hasn’t seen the field much, and Holton Ahlers has been inactive the entire year. The Renegades will host the St. Louis Battlehawks this weekend.
